Where is the substance???
So where are the policy announcements? Seems the election so far has been made up of poopgate the fight for the inclusion of green leader Elizabeth May and various scandals within the Conservative war room including this one today.
So should we blame the media for this or is this just the quality of candidates we have out there? What happened to the strong Conservative machine, it would seem that they can't quite get on message instead they seem to be almost making daily apologies and retractions. And where are the liberals to pounce on the conservative fumbles, well they finally got their plane, but they can't seem to get on message either. NO party has really taken over the narrative of this election yet. If anyone is looking good in all this it might just be Jack Layton of the NDP who increasingly seems to be in better control then the other two main parties.
Meanwhile buried among the muck there are some policy announcements being made...
Harper has guaranteed that Canadian troops will be out of Afghanistan by 2011.
Dion with Walkerton in the backdrop promised $50 million to fortify Canada's food safety net.
It really doesn't seem like anyone is running away with this and when the debates start what the heck are we going to debate about??? Poopgate? Someone has to pick up the ball here... Or may be the Greens and the NDP will continue to dominate right to the Ballot box, wouldn't that be fascinating. Exciting?

What is poopgate: are you refering to the puffin fiasco. May has a very good website but the political games they are playing and not clarifying for the public such as why May was not asked to be part of the debate- and then asked without any explanation ofr the change in plan. Are we as consumers this stupid. It is a bit like going to the bank and not getting service and paying through the nose for our own money but getting a debit card to APPROVE our use of it! LORD help us all but do we want someone to worship , or a machine, or a thinking human being!
One of those days...I was told that maybe the State of Alaska was going to take over North America and SAVE the world care of sarah Palin Enterprises. She already thinks the US has the Oil Sands project Wrapped up...whole wheat or multi-grain wrap! Then it was suggested we should all block the election by not voting...but someone thought the only outcome would be a continued Dictatorship. Happy Blogging!

Harper would skip televised debate in French on environmental issuesHALIFAX - Prime Minister Stephen Harper could be the only one of five party leaders to balk at participating in a French-language televised debate that would focus solely on the environment.
The Canadian Press has learned the Conservative leader would decline an invitation from a coalition of environmental groups organizing the event.
A source who asked for anonymity said the French-language all-news network LCN has agreed to televise the debate.
The coalition organizing the event, which includes Greenpeace and Quebec-based groups like Equiterre and the Quebeckyoto Coalition, confirmed it has sent invitations by email to the five party leaders and followed up with letters in the mail.
Liberal Leader Stephane Dion, Bloc Quebecois Leader Gilles Duceppe and Green Leader Elizabeth May responded with an affirmative to the invitation.
NDP Leader Jack Layton said he would accept on condition that Stephen Harper be there in person. If that isn't the case, then Outremont MP Thomas Mulcair would attend instead, said Karl Belanger, the NDP's campaign spokesman.
